NHS Boston co-hosted with the New England region of Hellenic American Woman's Council (HAWC) on the topic of Greek wines and spirits. The inaugural presenter and speaker was Effie Panagopoulos, who was the first Greek woman in history to self-start a liquor brand. With KLEOS Mastiha spirit, she has created Greece's first luxury spirit brand, with her eyes set on creating the "new" Metaxa, and having a bottle of KLEOS on every bar. Effie spoke about her upbringing, experience in the Greek spirits industry and the reason why she decided to try this venture on her own.
