Heritage Greece Alumni Network
The Heritage Greece Program is a once in a lifetime opportunity to explore Greek heritage, culture, and identity. The Heritage Greece experience continues beyond Greece as alumni avail themselves of opportunities to develop professionally as part of the Heritage Greece Alumni Network (HGAN).
The HGAN comprises of over 350 alumni of the Heritage Greece Program. The Network’s aim is to nurture the lifetime bonds created among the students during the Program, to bring the alumni together with NHS members and to give them access to NHS’ network and programs. The alumni have been organized into groups corresponding to NHS chapters located in areas where the students currently reside. This organizational structure offers the alumni the opportunity to associate with their respective chapter leaders and attend regional/chapter events and programs, maintaining their engagement with Hellenic heritage and expanding their network.
The HGAN have two-three regional individual volunteers serving as leaders appointed by the NHS’ Program Committee to coordinate alumni participation for chapter events and engagement with programs. HGAN leaders assist the NHS by enlisting volunteers for NHS national and local programs. The NHS communicates with alumni through private social media channels, keeping them apprised of NHS news, events, and updates on the Heritage Greece Program.
The HGAN’s agenda includes the development of local programs and activities that keep alumni engaged in the NHS and the Greek American community. Alumni are asked to consider creating a framework for several programs of their interest as part of their role as ambassadors of Hellenic heritage.
