 NHS Heritage Greece Alumni gathered together at the YAL Chicago Conference for a weekend of faith and fellowship. The conference took place on President's Day Weekend in Chicago, Illinois. The conference inspired and empowered students and their fellow peers to connect with Christ and his Church. They also shared their experiences from Heritage Greece, a two-week life-changing journey where students learn about their culture, heritage, roots and language.   The National Hellenic Society is proud to announce that the John Aniston Heritage Greece Memorial Scholarship Award has been established for Greek American college students sharing and immersive cultural and educational experience with students from the American College of Greece in Athens, and American College of Thessaloniki at Anatolia College.
This scholarship has been set up in memory of our dear friend and founding member John Aniston, who will be remembered by the National Hellenic Society for his kindness, heart, incredible sense of humor, and his love of his heritage. John was the recipient of our 2017 Ariston Award for Excellence and a strong supporter of our mission. On October 28th 1940, Greek prime minister Ioannis Metaxas said: “OXI” (NO) to an ultimatum made by Italian Prime Minister Benito Mussolini, which then led to the Greco-Italian War. Oxi Day represents Greeks' resilience, passion, dedication, and will to live freely, to honor their ancestors' sacrifices and preserve their culture.
On Oxi Day 2022, over 130 members of the Greek-American community gathered at Woodside Country Club, in Syosset, NY for a poker fundraiser, a rich dinner and drinks and a celebration of our Hellenic Heritage. The evening was hosted by the NHS New York Heritage Greece Initiative and the NHS NY Chapter Committee and Sponsors.  The National Hellenic Society (NHS) continues a series of successful events with its annual Heritage Weekend, which took place October 6th - 9th, 2022 at the Waldorf Astoria, Monarch Beach Resort & Club in Dana Point, California.
Attendees describe the event as: “One of a kind. The best Greek event.”
 Starting next year, The National Hellenic Society will collaborate with the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation, a nonprofit organization honoring exceptional undergraduate students of Hellenic descent and supporting their efforts with significant monetary awards based on academic merit and financial need.
 Since the establishment of the National Hellenic Society, there has been a commitment to educating the next generation of Greek-Americans and preserving their Hellenic identities.
 The National Hellenic Society hosted a summer luncheon at the beautiful NERAI restaurant for NHS and HABA members with special guest Michael Karzis, the Senior Producer at CBS' epic 60 Minutes.
