![]() The National Hellenic Society in collaboration with the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation held its Third Annual Mentor/Mentee Meet & Greet luncheon in Georgetown thanks to the generosity and dedication of hosts, Ted and Demetra Argeroplos. Ted and Demetra are NHS members and parents of children that attended both the Heritage America and Heritage Greece Programs. Ted also serves on the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation Board of Directors. Undergraduate and graduate students met to discuss their respective career aspirations ranging from law, government, international relations, accounting, consulting engineering, computer science, federal government agency work. Representative higher educational institutions included Columbia, Georgetown, George Washington, Johns Hopkins, University of Maryland, Christopher Newport and other universities. NHS members from throughout the U.S. are available to serve as mentors and provide advice, guidance and direction to alumni of the Heritage Greece, Heritage America and PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation. Undergraduate and graduate students met to discuss their respective career aspirations ranging from law, government, international relations, accounting, consulting engineering, computer science, federal government agency work. Special guest and NHS member, The Honorable Patrick Theros, Emeritus U.S. Ambassador to Qatar, career long State Department diplomat, and Emeritus Director of the U.S. Qatar Business Council relayed insights about his own journey as a leading diplomat under several administrations, and provided insights and career advice, especially for those seeking and/or furthering their careers in diplomacy, intelligence, law and international and government relations. NHS will replicate these meet and greet sessions in NHS chapters nationwide. These events demonstrate NHS’ commitment to engage the next generation of Greek American community leaders which are part of the NHS family.
