The Greek Guide to Greatness is a digital series co-produced by the NHS and National Geographic Television. The digital production will feature a series of vignettes highlighting the contributions of the ancient Greek world to contemporary society— many of which we take for granted yet remain part of daily life. The digital series is funded by the NHS and through a generous grant from the George and Judy Marcus Foundation.
The digital series will be made into a DVD and distributed with history books for students in grades 8-11 in schools across the nation – fulfilling NHS’ programmatic goals.
The digital series will be a companion to a cross-platform launch of The Greeks theme. Thanks to the support of National Hellenic Society member John Calamos, an amazing exhibit, The Greeks: From Agamemnon to Alexander the Great, consisting of over 500 artifacts from 22 museums in Greece has been showcased at Chicago’s Field Museum and is on display at the National Geographic Museum in Washington DC from June to October 2016. The theme of The Greeks will also be featured on a three-part documentary series set to be broadcasted on PBS on June 21, 28, and July 5, 2016, as well as a National Geographic Magazine featured story.
