Michael Karzis, an Emmy-Award-winning Producer at 60 Minutes, America's oldest and most watched television news program, has worked alongside legends in broadcast news during his 20+ years at CBS News.
In 1998, he worked with the celebrated Ed Bradley on hour-long investigative reports covering the AIDS epidemic in Sub-Saharan Africa. He's worked to report on a wide range of topics, from the Catholic Church crisis to the impact of big oil on the environment.
His work includes interviews with a Who's Who of policymakers and leaders, from Presidents to the former head of the CIA, George Tenet, to Iran's President, Hassan Rouhani.
Michael was also the Producer of two epic new stories: a two-series insider's look at the Holy Mountain, Mount Athos in Greece; and a rare perspective of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and Phanar in Turkey; as well as a riveting interview of His All Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew masterfully undertaken by the late, Bob Simon, one of the top journalists in the industry.
Michael's numerous awards include Emmy Awards, George Foster Peabody Awards, the Gerald Loeb Award, and Alfred I DuPont-Columbia University Awards for his exceptional work in television news broadcasting.
