The National Hellenic Society (NHS) hosted a reception at the Royal Olympic Hotel's Rooftop Garden in Athens on Friday, June 21st, bringing together Heritage Greece participants at the American College of Greece with distinguished persons from various fields.
The Heritage Greece Program is an educational initiative sponsored by the NHS that seeks to reconnect high-achieving Greek-American and Greek-Canadian students with their heritage, roots, language, traditions, and Greek identity.
"This event is not just a celebration of heritage, but a testament to Greece's enduring legacy," noted Lea Soupata, Vice President of the National Hellenic Society.
Against the background of the historical Acropolis, the students of Heritage Greece at the American College of Greece were welcomed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Alexandra Papadopoulou, the Secretary General of Hellenism Abroad, Dr. Ioannis Chrysoulakis, but also by members of the National Hellenic Society and honored guests, including Archimandrite Fr. hospitality, of the American College of Greece, of Dr. Tom Krimiges, Director Emeritus of the John Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory, Dr. John Kamp, Emeritus Director of the Agora excavations under the auspices of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens, Nick Tsilas, Microsoft Head of Legal Affairs for SE Europe, Dr. Evangelos Kyriakidis, Founder of the Heritage Management Foundation, Michael Printzos, Executive Director of the Hellenic Initiative, Teo Kalomoirakis, founder of the Gr2me.com platform, Leni Konialidis, Founder and Director of the Anargyri and Korgialeni School of Spetses, Marco Frazier, Founder of Aegean Film Festival, by Dr. Chad and Dr. Marilyn Prodromos, Prodromos Stem Cell Institute. The esteemed guests shared their insights, celebrating the Greek-American story and the importance of the Hellenic legacy.
